The Saint John Paul II Academy is delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs. Andrea Prout-Bernett as the new Principal of Saint John Paul II Academy, effective September 1, 2024.
Mrs. Prout-Bernett brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her new role, having previously served as the Principal at St. Joseph the Worker Elementary School in Richmond. Her leadership at St. Joseph the Worker was distinguished by a strong commitment to academic excellence, spiritual growth, and community engagement.
With a career spanning over two decades in education, Mrs. Prout-Bernett began her journey at St. Thomas More Collegiate in Burnaby before transitioning to Vancouver College, where she held various teaching and leadership positions. Her diverse roles included Campus Minister, Liturgy Coordinator, and Science Department Head, highlighting her versatile skills and expertise.
Mrs. Prout-Bernett holds a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Washington University, a Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University, and a Master of Arts from Gonzaga University. She has also completed Theology Courses at Mark’s College in Vancouver, anchoring her educational philosophy in Christ and the Gospel, holistic development, and community building.
Mrs. Prout-Bernett and her family are active parishioners at Star of the Sea Parish in Surrey, with deep-rooted ties to the Catholic faith and community.
