Good morning everyone and blessed May 21 to all.
As we continue through this beautiful Easter season and prepare our hearts for Pentecost Sunday, we are filled with gratitude and joy. This Sunday at Good Shepherd Parish, many people will be entering into the Catholic faith. What a beautiful reminder that the Holy Spirit continues to move powerfully in the hearts of people and continues to draw souls closer to Christ and His Church.
Following Holy Mass at Good Shepherd Church, there will be a joyful celebration of those converting to the Catholic faith, together with a Pancake Breakfast hosted by the Knights of Columbus alongside Father Augustine and Father Edwin. Congratulations to everyone taking this important step in their faith journey. May God bless each one of you abundantly and may the Holy Spirit continue to guide your path with peace, joy, wisdom, and love.
We are also excited to share that raffle tickets continue to be sold at the school for our Carnival. Do not miss your chance to win the beautiful E bike. Thank you to everyone supporting this wonderful community event.
Yesterday, we had the opportunity to sample some absolutely delicious treats prepared by Mr. Mark Addison’s Grade 11 class including popcorn, brownies, ice cream, and deep fried Oreos. Everything was wonderful and full of joy and creativity. Come and enjoy these treats again this Sunday at the Carnival. There will be something special for everyone and we are looking forward to a beautiful day together as a community.
Today there will also be a walk through meeting with the Carnival Committee. We will gather briefly in the boardroom and then continue coordinating preparations for Sunday. We will also begin setting up on Saturday in anticipation of the Carnival. If you are able to come and help in any way, please let us know. Your support, generosity, and spirit of service are truly appreciated and make such a difference for our school community.

Saint John Paul II Academy Foundation, in partnership with Shepherd Sterling, is honoured to invite you to a special evening of art, faith, and community.
On Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, the Academy’s Main Foyer and Atrium will be transformed into a beautiful gallery style exhibition featuring the work of acclaimed wildlife artist, photographer, and author John Banovich. John is a gifted storyteller whose 3 decades of photography across Canada’s breathtaking landscapes have been featured by The Associated Press, Helijet In Flight Review, Global News, and will soon be featured in Porter Airlines onboard magazine.
The evening will include:
• A curated exhibition of John’s limited edition wildlife artwork
• An in person signing of his beautiful new coffee table book, BANOVICH
• Live ambient piano music throughout the evening
• A personal multimedia presentation by John sharing 3 decades of stories and experiences from the field with time for questions
• The opportunity to personally meet the artist
• Refreshments available from the Academy Bistro
This evening will also serve as a fundraiser in support of the Saint John Paul II Academy Bursary Program. Shepherd Sterling will generously donate 20% of all art and book sales directly to the Academy. Every purchase will help support a student in receiving the gift of a Catholic education.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
