Good morning everyone,

In the midst of full days and many moving parts within our beautiful school, we are reminded that we are never alone. Jesus walks with us in every moment. He strengthens us when we feel tired, steadies us when life feels full, and fills our hearts with peace. Patience is trusting that God is present in all things and that He is guiding each step with purpose and love. Let us begin this day grounded in that truth.
Our website is a living and growing space. We are constantly updating it with new and current information to serve our community well. If you notice anything that needs to be refreshed or improved, please let us know. We are grateful for your support and your care in helping us keep everything accurate and up to date.
A heartfelt thank you to the Primal family who captured such beautiful and professional photos and videos for all of our sports events. These have now been uploaded and they are truly outstanding. What a gift to our community to be able to relive these moments. Thank you for the care, time, and excellence you poured into every event.
We are also filled with joy and pride as we celebrate our Track and Field athletes. Our Grade 8 boys and girls 4 by 100 teams are Surrey champions. What an incredible accomplishment that reflects dedication, teamwork, and perseverance.
We recognize our Grade 8 boys Luca, Oliver, Lorenzo, Alex, Marcus, Jayden, Bradley, and Ethan.
We recognize our Grade 8 girls Miranda, Uma, Emma, Chloe, Valerie, Camellia, Cara, and Raina.
We also celebrate outstanding individual performances.
Grade 12 Charlie placed 2 in the 800.
Grade 11 Elyse Dee placed 1 in the 800 and 1 in high jump.
Grade 9 Charlotte placed 2 in discus.
Grade 8 Alex placed 1 in 100, Raina placed 3 in 100, and Sienna placed 3 in 800.
In a remarkable moment for our school, the Grade 8 boys 4 by 100 team broke a 17 year record previously held by Holy Cross in 2009. This is a testament to hard work, discipline, and belief in one another. We also extend our gratitude to Coaches Wilkie and Dela Cruz for their leadership and commitment to our students.
If you would like to join us for the Prayer Breakfast, we would be blessed to have you with us. This year we are placing a special focus on mental health through a Catholic and Christian lens, reminding us that we are never alone and that Christ walks with us in every struggle. We are honoured to welcome internationally known Catholic artist Mr Matt Maher, whose music has touched hearts around the world and draws people into prayer and deeper relationship with Christ. We will also hear from Robb Nash, whose powerful personal journey speaks to overcoming hardship, finding purpose, and bringing hope to others. In addition, Bryana Russell from Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries will share a Christ centered approach to mental health, helping us understand how faith and community can support healing of mind, body, and spirit. Please let us know if you would like to attend.
A friendly reminder that our golf meeting is today at 5:00 via Zoom. We are now 2 weeks away from a very special day. This is more than an event. It is a joyful coming together of our community, a time to celebrate, and an opportunity to support one another in a meaningful way. We are truly grateful for each person who is contributing.
Thank you to all who are submitting articles for the magazine. The stories being shared are beautiful reflections of our Catholic community, our families, and our school. If you are still in town and feel called to share, we welcome you. Your voice and your story matter. Consider sharing moments of faith, gratitude, or how this community has touched your life.
Mr Walters has shared the Summer Dress Code options for our students.
From May 1 to June 30 the following will be permitted:
For boys
Khaki dress shorts with a black belt
For girls
Khaki tennis skort
For boys and girls
Blue or white Saint John Paul II Academy golf shirt
All dress shirts and golf shirts must be tucked in at all times regardless of what is worn on the bottom. Let us continue to carry ourselves with dignity as a reflection of our school and our faith.
Let us close in the Word of God:
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him.” Romans 15:13
“Love is patient love is kind it always protects always trusts always hopes always perseveres.” 1 Corinthians 13:4 and 7
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.” Psalm 133:1
May we move forward today with joy in our hearts, patience in our steps, and love for one another that reflects Christ in all we do.
