“Let all that you do be done in love.”
– 1 Corinthians 16:14
“No religion in the world is greater than kindness. No scripture is deeper than compassion. No prayer is holier than love.”
Good morning everyone and happy Wednesday, May 13.
As we prepare for tomorrow’s Golf Tournament, my heart is filled with tremendous gratitude and joy for this beautiful community. What a blessing it is to walk alongside such loving, faithful, joyful, hardworking, and compassionate people. Tomorrow is not simply a tournament. It is a reflection of faith in action. It is the fruit of kindness, sacrifice, generosity, friendship, and love for our beautiful school and one another.
Thank you to every volunteer, sponsor, donor, golfer, family member, and supporter who has poured their hearts into this special event. Your goodness and commitment continue to strengthen our mission and community in such a profound way.
A very heartfelt thank you to David Fanning, Darren Watt, Dr. David Wilkie, Holly King, Italia Prieto, Adriana Basantes, Bill Debiuk, Jose Vargas, Brigida Vargas, and all of the incredible sponsors and donors who continue to support Saint John Paul II Academy with such love and enthusiasm. Your generosity and dedication are deeply appreciated and never go unnoticed.
We are also so proud to celebrate wonderful news from our Track and Field team.
Congratulations to Saint John Paul II Academy on an incredible achievement.
Great job Coach Wilkie and Coach Dela Cruz.

Congratulations to our Grade 8 Girls and Grade 8 Boys teams for winning the Surrey aggregate banners.
A very special congratulations as well to Alex Yemersevych, Oliver Broerken, and Ellyse Dee for their outstanding individual achievements. Your hard work, discipline, sportsmanship, and commitment are a beautiful reflection of our school community. We are so proud of all our student athletes.
Please also join us in congratulating Dr. Thomas Jay Cooper on receiving an Honorary Doctorate. Dr. Tom Cooper has been a tremendous supporter of our school community and a faithful supporter of many charitable initiatives throughout Vancouver and beyond. His commitment to faith, leadership, compassion, and service has touched countless lives.
We are truly grateful for his continued support of Saint John Paul II Academy. Dr. Cooper has generously supported our events and continues to be a strong promoter and advocate for our school and mission. We look forward to welcoming him at tomorrow’s Golf Tournament. Congratulations Dr. Cooper on this very well deserved recognition. May God continue to bless you abundantly for your kindness, generosity, and faithful witness.
This Friday, immediately following morning Mass, there will be a special reception in honour of Father Francis, thanks to the wonderful efforts of Anne Boyle.
Father Francis, thank you for your years of love, dedication, commitment, warmth, kindness, guidance, and faithful service as our Chaplain. Thank you for your beautiful smile, your comforting hugs, your joyful spirit, and for always making people feel loved and welcomed. You have been such a blessing to our school and community.
We wish you a beautiful retirement filled with peace, joy, good health, laughter, and the abundant love of Christ. You will be greatly missed and forever loved by this community. God bless you Father Francis and thank you for everything.
A friendly reminder that there will be a Carnival meeting tonight at 4:00 PM via Zoom. Thank you to everyone working so tirelessly behind the scenes to make the Carnival such a joyful and meaningful celebration for our families and community.
As we continue through this busy and exciting week, may we remember the words of Christ and continue to lead with kindness, compassion, patience, joy, and love.
And as the beautiful song reminds us:
“All you need is love.”
May God bless each and every one of you and may Our Blessed Mother continue to watch over our beautiful Saint John Paul II Academy family with love and protection.
