School Governance
Just as the inaugural class of grade 8 students who walk through the doors of St. John Paul II Academy in September 2018 will need to find their way and help set the tone for the school, so too does the administration needs to work to define all of the local policies that will be required to manage and run the school.
St. John Paul II Academy will be managed and run as a Catholic Independent School of the Archdiocese of Vancouver (CISVA). As such the policies that govern other CISVA schools will apply to St. John Paul II Academy. There will be, however, instances where some form of accommodation to current CISVA policy will be needed that reflects the school’s non-regional nature.
“One of the CISVA Strategic Priorities is to have an effective Board of Directors and Education Committees which are committed to their respective responsibilities within the CISVA Mission.”
