St. John Paul II Academy Admission
Policy: Admission rules are established to ensure that all Catholics have an equal opportunity to enroll their children in a Catholic school. Priority will be given to Catholic students seeking admission to the Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese.
Procedure: As part of this process, the Principal and the Archbishop’s Representative, when practical, shall meet with every new family. From the interview and the information available to them they will decide if the school can meet the needs of the students and whether the family and the student can meet the requirements of the school. In those cases when it is decided to accept the student, the family shall read and sign the Family Statement of Commitment prior to being accepted into the school. Such families will be accepted according to the established priorities. For purposes of this policy, ‘practicing Catholics’ shall mean those individuals who are registered and active in a parish, and attend Sunday Mass regularly.
Admittance Priorities for St. John Paul II Academy
Children presently enrolled in the school if they and their families meet the expectations of the school.
1. Siblings of children already in the school.
2. Children whose families are practicing Catholics active in one of the parishes of the Archdiocese.
3. As per CISVA policy, a limited number of positions will be made available to non-Catholic applicants at the discretion of the Administration.
In those cases, when it is decided to accept the student, the family shall read and sign the Family Statement of Commitment prior to be accepted into the school. It is expected that this commitment will be honoured throughout the student’s tenure at St. John Paul II Academy. Failure to do so may result in intervention by the school administration and refusal for enrolment. St. John Paul II Academy reserves the right to refuse admission to any applicant deemed to pose a threat to students, staff, or parents.
Can I enroll my son or daughter immediately at St. John Paul II Academy?
Yes, absolutely. Presently St John Paul II Academy is accepting any students presently enrolled in a Catholic elementary school in the Archdiocese of Vancouver. We are asking all families presently interested in securing a place in Grade 8 for September 2018 and subsequent years to participate in the school’s Enrolment Deposit Program.
Non-Catholic and International Students
Non-Catholic families or the families of International Students not attending a Catholic elementary school are asked to contact the Principal, Mr. Michel DesLauriers and set up a meeting prior to possible acceptance into St. John Paul II Academy.
Families interested in sending their child(ren) to St. John Paul II Academy should complete a Pre-Registration here.

Enrolment Deposit Program
The Enrolment Deposit program asks the families of students accepted into St. John Paul II Academy to contribute $25 000 to the school that will be returned to the family when their child graduates or leaves the school. By introducing this program these funds can be used to help secure bank financing for the school’s construction. While these funds are being held by the school an interest payment to the family will be made on an annual basis for the duration that these funds are held. The Enrolment Deposit form can be downloaded at this link.
“If you haven’t had a chance to hear Troy Van Vliet speak, please attend the next info session. Also, do some research on this website and be accurately informed. Troy is very compelling and you can see and hear for yourself all the backing he has from the team he’s put together. But also, he needs our help…this school needs funds to get off the ground. At first, the bond of $25 000 seemed daunting. We will have to make family compromises when our girls start at SJP II Academy but it’s well worth it to us for our children to have the best Catholic education and be formed into the best versions of themselves as they grow and mature.”
