Quote from Archbishop Miller: “This is a bold initiative for the archdiocese. This school will help us meet the growing demand for Catholic education in the South Surrey area as this part of the Lower Mainland continues to grow and develop.”

Dan Moric, former Superintendent of the CISVA, claims that St. John Paul II Academy represents a shift in approach as CISVA tries a new way of funding the new high school. “It’s a unique model that includes asking families to commit to an enrolment deposit and higher tuition than other CISVA schools. It won’t be a regional school, and anyone interested in a Catholic education can sign up their child.”

Quote from SJP II Parents – Sean and Kelsey Milliken: “We decided that St. John Paul II Academy is the right secondary school option for our daughter because we feel that it is important to take action and join what will be an enriched community experience, which our daughter will carry throughout her lifetime. Over the past 10 years, we have had the opportunity to be a part of the Star of the Sea community, where there have been many conversations about bringing a new Catholic high school to the South Surrey/ White Rock peninsula. When the SJP II Academy project was finally announced in 2017, we were overjoyed to know that our daughter would be able to continue to grow the foundation of faith-based Catholic education through her high school years.”
